Caged Madness 37 Quick Preview

Explosive Fight Promotions will crown a new welterweight champion this Saturday night at Caged Madness 37 at Tadmor Shrine in Akron.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the first of 16 fights will kick off at 7:30.

Izzy William and Darryl Booker will do battle in the main event fight for the 170-pound amateur title. Both men will be making their EFP debuts but each will bring a winning record and a strong reputation.

William (6-2), a 27-year-old Akron native, is fighting out of the formidable Evolve MMA camp.

All six of William’s victories have come via stoppage, but he is stepping into the cage for the first time in 15 months.

Booker has won three fights in a row after losing his debut, and he will enjoy a six-inch height advantage over William.

Other top bouts coming to Caged Madness 37 include heavyweights Tyree Johnson (4-7) vs. Sean Felton (4-2); welterweights Sean Felton (4-2) vs. Travis Soto (8-3); Sam Daviduk (3-0) vs. Joe Riley (1-1); and Alex Quinn (2-0) vs. the debuting Tywan Claxton.

Anticipation Builds During Fight Week

If you’re scheduled to compete Saturday for Caged Madness 37 then you are probably starting to get a little nervous energy.

Maybe a lot of nervous energy.

Conversely, maybe you are super confident (Just hair below cocky, though).

Or Maybe you are scared shitless.

Really, I have no idea how you feel because trying to figure out what goes on between the ears of MMA Fighters is a sure way to leave your mind boggled.

Nonetheless, the courage, toughness and unpredictability of the sport promises to entertain. If you don’t believe me, take a few minutes during the show and watch a couple fans, not the fight, the fans- not too long though because the match ups  look to be crazy solid Saturday. You can thank Ohio’s premier matchmaker Scott Corbin for that.

If you are in fact competing, we’ve established that it’s not exactly clear how you feel during Fight week, but what we do know, when the crowd stands and screams for or against, you will feel it. We all do.
